Numerous talks by ArtVerona, which explore the value of Italian collecting by imagining the perspectives, through a parterre of guests who are bearers of different stories of relationships between art and business, of family and new generation collectibles, of large and small budgets.
The exhibition continues with Free Stage, the section dedicated to artists who are not yet represented by a gallery, this year with 8 young promises and with the 14 project spaces selected for the 10 Independent Spaces. In the city, the Veronetta district comes alive with projects and initiatives that offer, through contemporary art, an opportunity to discover one of the most interesting places in the historic center.
ArtVerona presents the 150 galleries of its 15-year edition, which takes place from 11 to 13 October at Veronafiere, offering an increasingly qualified route through the Italian art market, from the most consolidated modern sector to the emerging news and to discover.
There are 5 sections of the fair, among the 115 galleries of the Main Section, between modern and contemporary art, and those of the research and experimentation area, which also includes the two sections that look abroad: 5 galleries for Focus on, that after Lithuania this year aims at another scenario of great interest, that of the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and the Grand Tour, dedicated to the vision of 6 galleries and gallery owners who have opened a branch abroad from Italy or vice versa. These are flanked by the two sections dedicated to the youngest realities with the 16 Scouting galleries and the 8 galleries of the Raw Zone shows only.
"ArtVerona is celebrating its fifteenth edition this year, presenting itself on the national trade fair scene as a mature and concrete fair", commented Giovanni Maccagnani, vice president of Veronafiere, at the presentation of Art Verona, which took place today at the Academy of Fine Arts Verona. "The event, in fact, is characterized by being both a market appointment with an excellent selection of the quality of the proposal of the galleries, and as a cultural event, for the benefit of the entire territory".
Also present at the conference were the president of the Academy of Fine Arts Marco Giaracuni and the director Francesco Ronzon, Francesca Briani, Councilor for Culture of the Municipality of Verona, Elena Amadini, exhibition manager Stone & Design of Veronafiere, Adriana Polveroni, artistic director of Art Verona, and the curators Paola Tognon, Jessica Bianchera and Christian Caliandro.
This edition sees new important adhesions that add to significant returns and confirmations compared to the last edition, a result that derives from the recognition of a project that invests in the potential of the Italian system. This also happens starting from a constant dialogue with the different expressions of collecting, which manifests itself all year round with the roadshow of the fair in Italian cities and with the novelty of Collecting, the course dedicated to new collectors, conceived by Adriana Polveroni, reached the third year of his artistic direction.
The exhibition continues with Free Stage, the section dedicated to artists who are not yet represented by a gallery, this year with 8 young promises invited by Alberto Garutti and with the 14 project spaces selected for the 10 Independent Spaces, by Cristiano Seganfreddo.
To celebrate its fifteenth anniversary ArtVerona expands the experience of the fair by exceptionally opening to the public the adjacent Mercatali Galleries. The 6,400 square meters of this fascinating industrial archeology building being restored by Veronafiere are transformed for three days into Loony Park, a large environmental installation by artist Norma Jeane, created by Contemporary Locus and curated by Paola Tognon. Not just a party, but an artistic experience that evolves from day to night, to enter into the mechanisms of entertainment. An interactive work that embraces visual arts and performance and is intertwined with sound thanks to international guests invited by Path Festival, protagonists of the great opening party on Friday 11th October and the sound incursions that will animate the installation on Saturday 12th October.
At the fair, the ArtVerona talk program explores the value of Italian collecting and imagines its perspectives, through a parterre of guests who are bearers of different stories of relationships between art and business, family collecting and new generation, large and small budgets .
The theme of the relationship between art and business will also be the focus of a workshop promoted by Sineglossa, with the support of the Cariverona Foundation, as a stage of the art + b = love (?) Festival, dedicated to the innovative power of art, with the work participated in Amazon's Cabinet of Curiosities (Algorithmic Inquiry No. 1), in which the artist Emilio Vavarella and a group of entrepreneurs will address the issue of the relationship between human intelligence and artificial intelligence.
Conversations with the artists, informal and directly on the stands, by Io, the opera and you, edited by Saverio Verini, are also confirmed. The dialogue on collecting also expands online, on the ArtVerona website, with a new series of Critical Collecting, curated by Antonio Grulli: ten independent critics tell of ten Italian collections.
The ArtVerona awards and awards platform is increasingly articulated, with two new features: the MZ Construction Award, created on the initiative of two entrepreneurs and collectors from Campania, and the Casarini Prize created by the DueTorriHotels Group and aimed at painting under 35. Confirmed all other awards
