http://youtu.be/7MkJfMsb5D4 - 28 dicembre: buon compleanno cinema con John Ford Il Cineclub Verona ricorda la nascita del cinematografo, avvenuta ufficialmente il 28 dicembre del 1895 a Parigi, con una manifestazione ormai storica per Verona: "Buon Compleanno Cinema", giunta quest'anno alla 29° edizione. Per celebrare il grande cinema la scelta è caduta su un film unico e straordinario: "The Iron Horse" ( Il cavallo d'acciaio, 1924) cinquantesimo film di John Ford, un western epico sulla nascita della ferrovia che collegò la costa atlantica con quella pacifica, diventando la spina dorsale di una nazione che voleva diventare grande. Un film "didattico" per instillare nel popolo l'idea del "sogno americano", un sogno che si realizza vincendo le asperità, il dolore, la delusione, la morte. Un sogno che è per ognuno un cammino iniziatico, senza scorciatoie, vero la maturità. Per la prima volta John Ford rende tributo a Lincoln, comprendendone appieno il peso nell'educazione allo spirito americano. C'è nel grande regista il senso poetico della Storia, egli è l'Omero della modernità e i suoi eroi e le sue eroine appartengono alla nostra idea, forse oggi resa opaca, di un'umanità in cammino conscia della singolarità di ogni essere umano. Film d'avventura, nel senso più vero del termine, vien ben raccontato dalle parole di uno storico fordiano di gran spessore qual'é Lindsay Anderson: "E la tremenda forza di questo affresco appassionato ci colpisce anche oggi: le turbolente città che crescono intorno ai cantieri della ferrovia, gli avventurieri e le ragazze nei bar e nei bordelli, la giustizia sommaria nel tribunale-saloon del giudice Haller, il buonumore degli operai, la ferocia degli indiani, le locomotive che avanzano su terreni impervi, le città sradicate e trasportate al seguito degli uomini che la ferrovia spinge a Ovest. Una nazione si espande e cresce davanti ai nostri occhi, come in quei documentari accelerati di piante che germogliano, crescono, fioriscono e maturano a vista d'occhio". Ugo Brusaporco "The Iron Horse" sarà presentato in una splendida copia integrale e sarà accompagnato dalla fisarmonica di Igino Maggiotto. La serata è dedicata alla memoria di Beatrice Sartori Recondo (1956 - 2013) e dell'amico Augusto Tretti (1924 -2013). L'appuntamento è sabato 28 dicembre, alle ore 21, nella sala del CTG a Santa Maria in Chiavica, al numero 7 dell'omonima via del centro antico di Verona, chiusa tra le Arche Scaligere e la bella via Sottoriva.
